CA Chuck Bowers
CA Chuck Bowers was founded by Chuck Bowers in 1985 to better serve investment clients. Initially serving 60 clients, CA Chuck Bowers’s number peaked at 150 before settling down to the 120 clients Chuck works with today.
“Most of my clients are self-employed,” Chuck explains. “I primarily work with Form 1040 returns and have always been a one-person operation, so I’m always looking for ways to improve efficiency.”
After seeing a GruntWorx ad, Chuck took the plunge: “I’d heard about the company over the years and decided to give them a shot, since I wanted to save time with data entry and convert to a paperless record keeping system. At the time I had no idea that there were webinars available, so I attended one the following year.”
Chuck characteristically got to the point when asked if a webinar was required to use the GruntWorx: “The process is pretty easy once the basics are understood. I don’t think you have to attend a webinar, but the presenters are so good at teaching the product that there’s no reason not to sign up for one.”
When tax season rolls around, Chuck primarily uses Organize and Populate. “Though,” he admits, “Trades cuts a lot of time and tedious work from the equation when I have occasion to use it.”
The defining characteristic of his GruntWorx experience came at the end of filing season: “We finished up early on April 18th and would have finished a day or two prior if some folks hadn’t been late in sending their data. Even better: we had no extensions!”
When asked if he would recommend GruntWorx to other tax professionals, Chuck was quick to answer: “Yes. It saves time, paper, and, most importantly, money. GruntWorx basically makes staying organized a non-issue.”
